High Production CNC Machining
Our high production cnc machining specializes in machining of castings and forgings in the thousands. machine tools such as the mazak nexus 6000 and mazak v515 are just a part of our lean manufacturing facility serving a variety of customers in the food processing, oil and gas drilling and off highway industries.

Automation is used throughout our factory to be as efficient and cost-effective as possible. for example, managing KanBan programs offers dock-to-stock commitments that consistently meet customer delivery dates.
Our CNC manufacturing processes are insured by complete first Article, In-process and final Inspection methods. Constant monitoring of the process ensures repeatability and reliable quality.
Crown Machine Inc. continues to invest in the latest technology in machine tools. We also invest heavily in our people. Our employees receive extensive training in ISO 9001:2008 procedures and work instructions, as well as individualized training relevant to their particular department or machine.

Large Part Machining
Crown Machine’s large part CNC machining capabilities include a Mazak Slant Turn department that features 15”, 24” and (2) 21” SMW big bore air chucks and 80 inches between centers. The Mazak Slant turns are complemented both in CNC vertical milling with a Mazak Vertical V655, 25.59” travel on both Y and Z axis and 78” of X axis travel. Larger milling can also be accommodated on a Devlieg Boring mill with up to 48” height and 96” X-axis table controlled with Anilam positioning.

Prototyping/Short Run Processing
Turning
Crown Machine Inc. has a CNC lathe department that covers a wide size range of components from small CNC chuckers to larger CNC slant turns utilizing chuck sizes from 8” to 24” with bar capacity up to 7.25 diameter thrugh the SMW big bore chucks. All lathes are equipped with steady rest tail stocks that accommodate up to 8.50 diameter. Our customized short run turned components are shafts, flywheels, drive housings, universal drive components, down hole fracking and test fixtures.
Milling
Our milling department consists of horizontal boring mills, CNC vertical and CNC horizontal mills. Mazak vertical milling centers, “Y”, “Z” axis 25.59 X axis 78.0 travel max capacity. Mazak horizontal milling centers 19.69” maximum table size. Horizontal Devlieg Boring mills, 96.00 maximum table length, the majority of our milling centers are equipped with a 4th axis rotary table. All CNC mills have been complemented with a sub-table consisting of work holding dowel pin locators to simplify repeat setups. All Work holding fixtures are designed and manufactured in our facility.
Our CNC machines are computer networked so the programs can be saved and maintained for updated revision control. The machinists will download the program once approved by manufacturing and upload per any changes that may have occurred.
Tool Room
Our in-house tool room capabilities offer shorter lead time in the manufacturing of special tooling. All expendable tooling is organized, dispensed and ordered through automatic tool crib systems. Crown incorporates state-of-the-art turning and milling tooling, such as a wide range of Antivib boring bars up to 3” diameter x 34” D.O.C, high positive milling cutters allow for versatility including ramp/ spiral milling along with indexable drilling keeps us competitive in our quoting efforts.

Value Added Services
Value added processes include a 1200 square foot assembly area equipped with Inventory controlled component storage cabinets, two pipe vices, plenty of bench space and the ability to achieve a 5000 lb joint torque rating on diameters up to 7.0”. Assembly procedures are created for individual configurations. All assemblies can be serialized and documented per customer requirements.
A Certified Hydrostatic pressure test bay with testing capabilities up to 10,000 psi was developed to assure product quality from concept to completion within the oil and gas drilling industry. Time and pressure can be recorded at specific intervals and critical components for the test panel are calibrated per customer requirements.
With the innovative addition to one of our Mazak ST50/ 80” centers, the Technidrill Ejector drill coolant system has eliminated the concerns of cost and outsourcing lead time for select gun drilling operations. The 54 gallons per minute of coolant flow keeps chips flowing and the parts cool during the process, enabling secondary operations to continue without product flow interruptions.
